About this item HOW OUR DAMASCUS IS MADE: All our Damascus is real and not just an acid etch. Damascus is a mixture of 1095HC and 15N20 nickel carbon. You heat them up together and then fold the bar over and over to get the desired layers, ours are 396 layers. Then you burn the blade in acid, and it turns the nickel satin color and the high carbon turns blackish gray. This is how the layers are exposed to show the layers of the new steel created coined “Damascus”. All Damascus is acid etched to show the layers. Sword ! Damascus Sword ! It’s Absolutely stunning!
It is well worth the money, it is real Damascus, so very beautiful! Weight balance is excellent!Small enough that it is versatile! razor sharp right out of the box, but it is very short, not the length described. It came so wrapped in plastic it took me about five-ish minutes to get out, so damage isn’t something you have to really worry about. 10/10, might buy another one. One thing to note, based on the photos from other people it seems to be a little different with each unit, as suggested in the name of the sword.

Remember it’s a $100 price point.
If you’re looking for a perfectly made sword with no flaws you need to spend a lot more than this. That being said, I love the sword. It is a very nice looking Damascus and definitely appears hand made. If I was fighting using a shield this would be an ideal one handed size. Small if a sword was all you are packing. The negatives are the blade is uneven and the fuller is nowhere close to being centered and by far the worst thing is the terrible string this handle is wrapped with. My daughter said it looked like it was bedazzled because it is a glittery silver color. I cut it off immediately and will wrap with something else. Those things aside, I love the overall look, size and weight and for a $100 I love it. Don’t expect a $1000 sword for 10% of the cost.

Blade is fairly sharp, best for display and costumes
The blade is very sharp and is a lot of fun to cut boxes with. I doubt it would be good in a fight, but the damascus is beautiful and is pretty easy to handle.

Not to happy with it
Seemed thin for a sword and was shorter then advertised but looked good enough not sure if its real damascus. The Grove down the center is not real straight and threads around Handel seam fairly cheap and loose but hey was 100 and was a gift for someone

Craft and design
Beautifully made and well crafted. The Damascus steel makes it even more beautiful in both the guard and in the hilt. However the white string wrapped around the wooded hilt throws off the character of the sword, plus makes it look cheesy. For anyone who chooses to perchance one, totaly worth it, but could remove string aroun the handle and leave the plain wooden hilt or replace with better material if choose to.

Pretty Good
What a nice sword… the layerd steels is very nice looking. Very sharp as well. I re-wrapped the handle with some nice leater and it has improved everything! Very pleased with this purchase… and I would not be afraid to use it.

It’s a 100$ sword it’s not gonna be perfect
It’s not 31in it’s 29in, the pommel was loose and it’s got some spots where someone touched it other then those things the sword is nice for the price also didn’t like the string wrapped around the handle.

Wonky but nice.
The edge is off and wavy but good for a forest machete at least.

I love Swords but not this One
I myself am I collector of blades and firearms and I love the craftsmanship of swords, but when I received this sword I opened to see that my pommel of my sword fell off and the handle is completely loosse making it highly dangerous to swing around

Not too bad just not that great either
The quality of steel is wonderful because it’s Damascus the edges extremely Sharp the craftsmanship would be beautiful if it wasn’t a rat thing Viking swords never used ratings the rat tail Tang isn’t something from Europe until later on in the Middle ages when Smiths were less quality and more quantity at this blade had a full time I’d easily played triple what I did to get it so basically you’re getting what you paid for no no I’m not a blade but definitely not bad already or functional. It did arrive in 4 days.

Not bad
Sheath was real leather, oil was still on blade. Opening that package was like smelling Valhalla! A little warped but still very gorgeous and well weighted

Could have had 5 stars
This is a great sword. Construction seems solid and I’ve only had to tighten the pommel once. My issues were the 5 noticeable spots where the blade was pitted, the sharp edges on hand side of the crossguard and pommel. The big kicker was the the length. My blade isn’t as long as the description promised. I almost sent it back. It’s just too damn beautiful.

Blade isn’t described length, 2/3 the size as described
The blade is described as 31 inches, what I received is 21 inches. It has a wobbly appearance as well, as the edge isn’t straight or consistent with the blood groove. If I wanted a 21 inch sword, I would have purchased a gladius. This is not a Viking sword, and as such the style doesn’t look right for the short size of the blade.
