A Thoughtful Exploration of Lilith’s Dimensions

Embarking on the exploration of Lilith through the pages of this book feels like an exhilarating adventure into the unknown. The tripartite structure of the narrative unfolds like the turning of pages in an ancient tome, each section revealing a layer of Lilith’s enigmatic essence. The initial chapter meticulously intertwines the threads of history and metaphysics, setting the stage for a profound journey. As the story gracefully transitions in the second part, it weaves together disparate elements, much like the unfolding chapters of an epic tale. The author’s skilled storytelling mirrors the anticipation of discovering a hidden world. Concluding with practical insights in the third part, the book becomes a guide, illuminating the path for those eager to embark on their Lilith-inspired journey.

    Eye Opening

I really enjoyed this book. It drew me in instantly. It is written mostly in the view of Lilith, but I think that it gave me a lot of historical background on her and who she is. It definitely makes me question a lot of the bible and similarities she has to other stories I have heard. This is a great read and is a great intro to Lilith and all she is.

Shows Lilith’s many sides and history

I love this book and I read it in less then 1 day. He shares Lilith’s background and expands it as well as many sides of her. I love the full details and recommend this book if you want to get to know her.

    A compelling perspective

This book contains a compelling perspective or interpretation of the figure that is Lillith, its heartbreaking and rage inducing at many points, and although I believe it’s but a small fragment of the bigger picture it is a well written and vibrant fragment worth the investment of purchase and time to explore.

Lilith is life, truth and the way

This book touched me more than I have fully realized yet. I have been drawn to Lilith for years now. She keeps reappearing in my life and this book is the latest example. This book brought me to tears and love repeatedly. I know that I must earnestly seek her out and ask her to be a big part of my life. I needed this book and I know that I belong to Lilith. I love her like no other.

    Loved it

I enjoyed this book much more than I expected. Part 2, Her story in Her own words, was captivating and kept me reading long into the night, falling asleep and dreaming of Lilith. The only issue I really had was in the final section, other people’s experiences of Lilith. The writing became incredibly sloppy, as though no editing had been done there. Phrases repeat within sentences, and extra words are present that are hard to ignore and take away from the meanings. I had to re-read many sentences several times in order to decipher what was actually meant.Overall a great book, and I will most definitely read part 2 over again many times. Editing better would improve the book greatly in a second edition.

    Well written and imaginative

Highly readable recreation and re-interpretation of a biography for Lilith, here given largely as a deity to worship, and thus no more factual than most things given for faith not accuracy. Much is flatly invented, much is coopted from unrelated divinities or demonesses, and too much that is left out would’ve been the most interesting of all. Anyone looing for the actual extant mythology won’t find it here, as even portions alleging to be quoted from ancient sources are so heavily revised and paraphrased as to have barely any relationship to the original. Yet it all has a cohesive resonance and falls pleasantly between a nice work of genre fantasy and a religious tract.

    So Well Written!

This book is a must read for women today! It helped me to integrate women’s issues with a goal of returning to the source.

I just finished it and loved where it went!! Loved how it made me look at certain things in a new light.I’ve been friends with Mark for many years and we’re big fans of Lilith but I must say, even after everything, this book still gave me new ways of looking at certain things. Such nice surprises.FYI… I’m one of the contributors in the back.

Arrived damaged, inside does not have specific references, or correct suppositions

It was damaged inside the cellophane, meaning it was damaged before Amazon got it. Inside the author makes references to specific books (sometimes) but does not mention chapters, verses, etc. often. There are major misinterpretations of the Jewish Kabbalah’s Zohar (Book of Splendor) which the author got a complete 180° opinion than that if the Zohar’s commentary explaining the poetic books, which makes me wonder in the other “quoted” sources. Unfortunately, in the end I was not satisfied with this book, either in condition nor contents. Having specific footnotes with exact references would have helped a lot. How a second edition comes out with this and fact checking by experts. I give the author credit for making the book, as it is not ready to write a book, especially one like this. However I hope he accepts the criticism he had received in love, learns from his mistakes, and improves in the future. I’ll be keeping an eye out.

    A must read!!!

If you know about Goddesses you’ll want to read this book. Don’t believe the negative hype. I bought this book on kindle but will purchase the hard back as well!

Keep what resonates, throw the rest away!

Honesty and integrity are hard to find in a book written in first person by someone other than that person for whom it is written. Lightly pushing the gay agenda. While I can appreciate a personal touch… So unnecessary and out of place. The grammatical errors just kept multiplying in later chapters. The later chapters read like a bunch of scattered thoughts. I often wondered what parts were the Goddess and which were the author, but not in a good way. I wondered this of the entire book.

    Wonderful new book on Lilith!

I have been a devotee of Lilith for many years. She is a mother of mixed multitude and one that has many faces. It is hard to find good work on her, as many is anchored in the demonic or darker aspects of her that are routinely glamorized on TV. Mark’s passion resides within these pages, as he takes you through Lilith’s history and presents an alternative story. I’ve never truly appreciated the Kabbalistic side of Lilith’s mythology but Mark’s exploration is fantastic and has me wanting more knowledge. I especially love all of the imagery contained within the book, and the set of rituals presented at the end.

Includes Lilith’s story and some very useful rituals

I personally want to say thank you so much for the wonderful communication and quality of my order. I love how Mark H. Williams writes Lilith’s story as though she were telling it to us. Mark provides a lot of incredible history and facts on everything that is a part of Lilith. As soon as I got the book I couldn’t stop reading it. Definitely recommend this book for anyone that wishes to further their studies and connections with the dark mother. I love everything it is associated with and can’t wait for more.

    Skewed by male perspective.

Written by a male, from a very judeo-christian viewpoint of the world. This book leaves a lot to be desired when learning about the Devine feminine. Written from a largely male perspective and still subjecting her to the judeo-christian god is both wrong and ignores a large part of Liliths history that might predate this story in the form of ishtar. The imaginative autobiography part of the book is just juvenile in a lot of respects. While I appreciate lilith being portrayed as saying to someone they don’t have the balls to do something, the language is jarringly anachronistic and ultimately irreverent for honoring the goddess Lilith.I would leave this one on the shelf.

    Meh

I liked this book well enough at the beginning but I began to feel differently tbe more I read. This whole book is a story. Lilith is Good, Samael is Evil, Cain has been used, and poor Lilith just wants to be loved. I almost feel this book reduces Her. I stopped reading when YHVH orders her to kill the firstborn of Egypt and alternating with tears and anger over slaughtering the innocents, she throws a fit. I flipped through the rest and decided I’d had enough. It’s like the Perils of Pauline mixed with the Bible. Didn’t even bother with the rituals in the back.

  25. Enjoyed it very much

Well written, loved the different perspectives it was approached, gives food for thought.I had been looking for more information on Lilith, historically and myths, this was a little of both.

  26. If you want to get to know lilith, look no further

I’ve just finished reading this today. It’s a brilliant book. Part one is encountering lilith, here you get to learn lots on the history through different religious fronts. I’m a person who likes highlighting important bits- I’d be inking most of it because it’s to the point and little waffle included. Part two: exploring lilith. It’s written as the view point of lilith since she opened her eyes in the garden of Eden through to when Jesus was resurrected and its beautiful. She’s such a guiding light that’s been so misunderstood over time. This way of looking at her really resonated with me. From my previous encounters with her I’ve mostly felt guiding supportive love of a mother and this story only drew me closer to her. Part three: experiencing lilith. This section gives you guidance and suggestions as to how you may wish to develop a relationship of your own with lilith, creating an alter, doing protection rituals etc. He reminds you to only invoke her if your really ready to do the work. To only create an alter within your budget and what feels right to you. The book then concludes with a few testimonials from people who have done just that and how doing the work made them feel during and after.I’d already done a lot of reading and research before this book but I learnt so much within these pages and I feel it’s done nothing but deepen my love for her.

  27. Wow!

If you are looking for one book on Lilith, then this is your book! I spent a while trying to research and piece together the multiple stories you tend to come across when reading about her, with not much hope at that, as it can be so mixed with different stories. But you see this book pieces together and fills in any gaps about her story and who she is. No question unanswered really. I’d recommend it to anyone.

  28. Amazing way to view the dark mother

Many personal experiences in the book help to put into context what it is all about. This is a brilliant whistle stop tour of Lilith through the ages. Also has rituals and invocations for your use. I would recommend this to anyone starting out researching Lilith.

  30. Go for it!

I’m an avid book reader for escapist purposes, so I rarely read non-fiction. However, I chose the right book to reel me in. Written in three parts by a Gnostic Bishop in service to Lilith; this book first tells us of the references to his Goddess in various religious literatures. The second part reads like a story; almost an autobiographical account from Lilith herself. Interesting to read how she is perceived in many different ways, and the way the author explains these. I’m going to say it’s somewhat naive in places (says the fiction lover!) but it has definitely given me a better understanding of why Lilith decided to pop into my subconscious! With this book; you get the Goddess, the woman, the Mother, the avenging angel, the protector, the force of unstoppable transformation, and the bringer of death. The third part is both personal accounts of others’ encounters, and suggestions of rituals, honours, offerings, tools etc. Informative definitely, but as an eclectic…I tend to do things my own way.All in all, 8/10 from me, and a recommended read if you have an interest in Lilith or deities as a whole.
